The INW board of directors is looking at three open seats in 2020, and we need YOU to fill one of them!
Have a passion for community and a love of spreadsheets? Like being the person behind the scenes? Willing to devote three years and about ten hours a month to making awesome happen? The INW board may be for you!
We are now accepting applications for INW members interested in filling one of the seats opening this year on the board of directors! The self nomination form will close on January 14th. All candidate profiles will be shared with the INW community at that point, and voting will run from 1/17 to 2/3.
Potential candidates should be prepared to speak at the INW town hall on January 18th at AltSpace.

Responsibilities of a board member include:
- One 2-3 hour board meeting a month plus 5-10 hours work on committees and independent projects (additional time will be required during Critical and Seacompression)
- Participation in at least one of the committees (tech, finance, grants, events, ALTSpace). Most committees meet once a month.
- Responsiveness to internal and external communications (this includes email and Slack).
- Twice yearly weekend retreat near Seattle.
- Maintain active involvement in community events and support Ignition programs
- Agreement to abide by the Ignition Northwest bylaws
What qualities make a good board member?
- Experienced community leader with an ability to inspire volunteerism and execute on ideas.
- Sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Thick skin and aversion to drama.
- Ability to accept criticism in the best possible light.
- A gift for thinking of outside the box solutions
