Ignition Northwest is pleased to announce its new, energetic board members and the new executive committee. It is with our great pleasure to announce that Sharon Afforde has accepted an open seat position, and our newly elected directors David Lerner, Erik Christopherson, and Jeanine Sword come in ready to work.
Returning from our semi annual board retreat has left each of us energized and ready to serve our community!
Spring Town Hall! Get Ready
The INW Spring Town Hall and Potluck will be held at the Mount Baker Community Clubhouse on May 11th from 6pm to 7pm, so bring some food to share, and come break bread with all of our community!

A BIG THANK YOU!
We want to take a moment to thank the outgoing board members that have served Ignition Northwest through donation of their blood, sweat, and tears.
Grace Jones, her faithful servitude as Secretary for her entire term left big shoes to fill. Grace was always elegant with the way she juggled social media, the community at large, and being a board director. Some parting quotes and love from her fellow board members: “I’m not putting that in the minutes,” “Fuck it. Not my problem.” She is a passionate defender of the community and as the INW Secretary worked hard to make sure communications were recorded and distributed. Working with the community is always a tough thing and she took on that challenge. Grace worked with the community even when they disagreed with her, she always looked to try to find even ground. She is generous and kind, steadfast, reliable and has great colored hair.
Leanne Todd wanted to make sure the scales were balanced and everyone was taken care of and heard. She took two of her years on the board and served as the Treasurer and her last year to fill in as the Treasurer in a time of flux and refocus her efforts into the art grant process. Some parting quotes and love from her fellow board members: “Why am I Spam?”, “It’ll take more booze to get it done.” She worked tirelessly to keep INW on track in her various roles on the board. Thank you for your constant enthusiasm towards trying to seek out the best options that serve our community, it’s that dedication that is greatly appreciated.
Peter Divide Zdebski took the role of Vice President in his first year and headed into the tech side of our community. Some parting quotes and love from his fellow board members: “Can I wear a onesie?” “If you need another way….” He had creativity and ideas just explode out of him…in a very crass way of course. Thank you for keeping dedicated to technological resources that kept the boat running , it’s a tough and often thankless job but we certainly have always appreciated your work and effort.
Next time you see them, give them a hug and a thank you for their 3 years of hard work!
SEACOMPRESSION NEWS
In 2015, in response to the ongoing request of the community at large, Ignition Northwest presented Seacompression as an all ages, alcohol-sales free, no admission-cost event, and that experiment was highly successful. As a result we have decided to change direction and fully adopt the following funding model.
Going forward, there will be no alcohol sales as part of the production of Seacompression; instead the funding source will be strictly donation based.
The following questions and anonymous responses will help set expectations and understand your financial commitment to support INW’s Art and Education Grant programs.
