The results of the special election are in!
We are so excited to welcome 3 new board members to the Ignition Northwest Board from our Special Election.
7 candidates ran for 3 board seats, and the results were close. Our new members are:
Tracey “Marley” Guice
Jess “Megaphone” Pearson
Scott “Feynman” Blomquist
It was a tight election and there was a 3 way tie for the 3rd seat: Tracey “Marley” Guice, Heather “Madame Heather” Candelaria, and Sylvain Niles. Last week, at the August 16th public monthly board meeting following the election close on August 13th, a runoff election was on docket to be discussed in order to break the 3-way tie, until Sylvain and Heather conceded, and Tracey “Marley” Guice was elected to the board. It was a banner election, with the most voter turn out we’ve had in a long time and the most candidates.
Welcome all new board members!
On-boarding the new board members will take place after burn, as many of our board and community members also attend and/or work at the event. Getting involved is still possible as all of the committees are still seeking members and many of the candidates that weren’t elected have joined committees and will still serve the community. We are lucky to have them. If you want to join them in making Ignition Northwest even better, all the committee info is current here at Ignitionnw.org, and INW members in good standing may serve on a committee. Please come make it happen! We need your ideas.
